This feeder is manufactured by from Little Giant and is a great size for baby chicks or a small flock of adult birds.  The tray has 'anti-scratch' vanes that limit scratching, feed waste and crowding around the feeder.  No more chicks and chickens getting in the food and kicking the feed all over the place!  For chicks place directly on the ground; elevate or hang the feeder when your brood is older.  Hanging the feeder about 3-5 inches off the ground keeps bugs and potential rodents away.
